I selected my favorite photographs for the book itself, of course. Here are a few that didn’t make the cut but are still interesting. As in the book, they are accompanied by my grandfather’s original captions in bold, and my own comments are in italics. A few are mentioned but not shown in the book, and a few are not of the carnival itself but other sights along their travels.
